Fox 25 News--A Funny Story

I chose this video because I thought it was funny. Also because I didn't know there was such thing as a gum to erase the smell of alcohol on someone's breath when they get pulled over by the police.

LOOK AT THIS CLOWN

This newscaster was basically trying to read us the scores of of a couple college games that day, but it looked like he was a bite nervous through the whole thing. When your a newscaster you're suppose to know what your saying while your saying it at the same time and it looked like he had that problem. what mad this whole thing worse was when he was getting frustrated in between his sentences. thats another thing you shouldn't do in front of the camera is show the people your mad. if you mess up you have to continue with the whole news report because then a least the people can see you tried through the whole thing without getting frustrated.

Angry Weather Man

Here's a perfect example of what not to do on a newscast... this guy lets his emotions take over and loses it on the air.

When I do my newscast, I'm going to be as cool and clear as I can. Unlike this hotheaded weather man, it is important not to let small things bother you; especially when you're recording live.

Tom Brokaw covers Elvis' death

I chose this newscast because the newscaster, Tom Brokaw, was a great speaker and seen in the homes of many people every night covering some of the most important stories of his time. Here he is covering the death of one of the most influential musician of the 20th century, Elvis Presley. It's big newscasters like Tom Brokaw that we associate with certain events in history. The news is what chronicles history.
I hope to some day be as good or better of a newscaster than Tom Brokaw.

Boom Goes The Dynamite - What Not To Do During a Newscast

I picked this newscast to show what happens if you get really nervous and how you shouldn't mess up or you'll be a YouTube sensation like this guy. If you remain calm, you should do well in your newscast! Hopefully I will do better than this, but I just have to remember to stay calm and composed and I won't mess up too badly.

Newscaster Laughing

I chose to put up this video because it shows how newscasters don't have to be dead serious all the time, they can let them selves go (like the man who couldn't stop laughing) and have a bit of fun in front of the camera. Though it usually matters what are you casting about you sometimes shoud be sad, happy, or angry, but most of the time they show no emotion, which I think is wrong.

Media Usage in Teens

In my Tv & News production class we are studying the amount of media that teens consume. Also, the effects of media on teens. I personally recorded my media usage in a single weekend (September 18 & 19). I watched 8 hours of television. I have an Itouch and use it for multiple things. I listened to 1.5 hours of music, spent 4 hours on the internet and 1/2 an hour playing games on the Itouch. I spent 2 hours playing video games (Xbox 360). A 1/2 hour listening to the radio while driving. As far as cell phone use is concerned, I made 9 calls, sent 59 text messages and received 62 texts. This comes to about a total of 17 hours of media consumption. Which averages out to 8.5 hours a day. This is slightly above the average for teens. Here is a link concerning the average media time of teens. Another thing that some people are researching is if the amount of media that teens are exposed to has a negative affect on their health. Here's a link on just that.
Not to mention childhood obesity!!!
