Adbusters, BBC Video on

Adbusters is a site trying to correct what they think are flaws in our society. One of their events is called Digital Detox in which you don't use any sort of internet or electronic device for a week and get in touch with your natural side. It also stands up against "megacorporations" with other events. The magazine is meant to criticize many social aspects and problems with how things are run through capitalism.

  1. Adbusters is very interesting. Their very good at making their work seem appealing to an audience. A week going without the internet or a cell phone seems reasonable and I think I can deal with that.

  2. I'd like to try that around that time but it wouldn't work so well while juggling school work. It'd be very hard to get in contact with people as well, which I have a problem with, only because I'd like to hang out with people if I don't have technology.

  3. I think it would be very difficult to go with out cell phone or internet but I think it would be good. The internet can be really distracting.

  4. Why would they do this type of event? Nobody can live without some sort of electronic device.

  5. I absolutely disagree. Have you ever been camping? Whenever I go camping I don't bring any electronic. Not even my iPod which I live with at all times.
