New "Armenian Media" class in the news!

Watertown High's new "Armedia" class was covered by the Watertown Tab recently.
Read the article and watch the little movie.

Explain the role of the journalist when covering the "story."

What is the story?
How did the journalist tell the "story?"
How did media play a part in the article and overall story?

  1. The role of the journalist when telling the story about the new ArMedia class was to tell the public how the class was formed, what the class teaches, who teaches the class, and how the class is taught. Media plays a big part in the article and overall story because media is being integrated into the class with things such as blogging.

  2. The story is about the new Armenian Media class aka ArMedia at Watertown High school this year. The journalist told the story by giving a general idea of what the class is about and what they do in it. The journalist also told the reader how the program was started. The media part of this story allowed to the audience to hear interviews from the teacher and actually see how the teacher interacted with her students.

  3. This story is about how the Armenian' class at Watertown High School was possibly not going to be continued because the teacher was no longer at the school. They could not continue to teach students at a basic level but they now have a class for students who already know some Armenian and they learn about the culture by searching through ArMedia

  4. The role of the journalist when covering the story is to get the main points of what the subject is about. This story is about the new Armedia class at Watertown High. The journalist told the story in very good detail, explaining how the class began and how it was nearly saved from being cancelled. She interviewed the teachers and they were able to tell her what the goal of the class is. She even incorporated media videotaping the classroom, and the video was able to give sense of what the class is all about.

  5. In this story the journalist tells us about the formation of the Armedia class, which uses technology, such as the internet, to help kids learn about Armenian language, history, and modern culture. The media shows the teacher interacting with the kids and teaching them new things.

  6. The role of the Journalist ; is to tell the people how the class is ran and what the class is all about, meaning... the hands down work that they do, such as the blogging at the beginning of class, also the media that is mixed in with the blogs that the students post at the beginning of class. Overall, all the other things they do to draw them self closer to the real Armenian Culture

  7. This story is about how the Armenian classes were going to get cut, but a new program called ArMedia helped the cause, and allowed the class to continue. The journalist told the story by explaining what ArMedia was and how it helped the class. The media role played allowed people to understand how other people fell about this system

  8. The story is that there is a new media/armenian class at Watertown high. The class was almost cut but the teacher volunteered her time instead. Instead of a regular language class this one incorporates media and learning about the Armenian culture. The reporter covers the story by interviewing the teacher and giving background information about the class. For example she talked about how the class almost got cut due to the budget. She talked about how the class uses a lot of media. The reporter also made a video of the teachers explaining the class. This gave me a better idea of what the class is about.

  9. I never even heard of that class before and it sounds like that video is trying the make the best pitch to students to take that class.
