Reflections on Mr. Nour's visit?

What did you learn from Naveed Nour's visit?
Thoughts and feelings...
Anything that you took away.

  1. I learned that Naveed based his pictures and work on things that matter to him in some way. Also, some of his work is not planned and that sometimes an opportunity presents itself and he takes his pictures. I feel like some of his work I can relate to, like the picture of when he was a kid and his son. Even though I'm not that old, whenever I see pictures of me when I was a little kid and compare it now I see how much time has changed. Naveed thought me that you don't have to be a 4.0 gpa student to be successful in life, all you have to do is try hard and not give up what you've always wanted to do. -Gabe

  2. I learned that the past is valuable and you should cherish it all you can. You should take pictures of anything you would want to look back on. Photography is a very interesting job and will now be something i might look into.

  3. When Naveed Nour came to visit I learned what most of his photographs meant and how he based a lot of his photographs on time. Before Mr. Nour came to visit in class we looked at a lot of his photographs and when he came I got to learn the meaning behind them and why he took them. I liked how Mr. Nour put two different photographs together from different times and showed how they can be related. Mr. Nour is also very creative when he makes up stories just based on a photograph, I really enjoyed learning about what Mr. Nour bases his ideas from and how he creates his stories.

  4. I enjoyed how Mr. Nour talked about his work as a photographer as not being only work but just something he really loves doing. If he sees a good scene, the first thing he wants to do is take a picture. In his mind, he's probably not thinking of the first picture that could make him rich, he's just thinking of how nice the pictures going to be. I liked how he talked about having goals for yourself and never giving up on them. I also, somewhat, appreciate what he's doing now with photography by helping out young artist who don't know how to make some type of living out of being a photographer. I'm not that into photography but Mr. Nour has definitely changed my perspective on when I look at photos.

  5. I learned that most photographers will relate their work to their own lives and they create their own stories for each photo they take.

  6. I learned that some of the pictures that he used to blend in with other pictures are somehow related to each-other. For example, In one of his edited pictures, he has kids sitting down next to graves, and to the left, he had another picture graves but of a different location and time. Another example is where he blended in kids playing soccer but the pictures were of 2 different locations and time. I like the picture of how he edited a picture of him and his son together. Maybe I should try it.

  7. I learned a few things from Naveed Nour's visit. From my perspecive, I think Naveed and I have a lot in common on our perspectives of life. He kept on saying never give up in life, and i think that is so true because no matter how hard everything is going, it will turn out alright if you want it to be like he was saying about when he went to high school. He wasnt smart or into it but as soon as he went into college,he began interest in it and became one of the best students in his class. I learned that whatever you do, you should always remember so you can go back to it. He also taught you dont have to be really smart in order to get through life. Mr. Nour also put a little bit of interest into photogography for me which i never had before.

  8. I learned a lot from Mr. Nour's presentation. It showed me how other people in the world are acting and in a sense what they are feeling threw his photography. I felt that his photography was special in his own way because he takes photos of what he cares about and of what he feels like it is important to have photographed.
