Grading and Finals: First Semester

Final grades for this semester are due April 15th.

Grades will be based on:

1) Attendance
As I have always mentioned, this class is largely based on attendance and participation.
6 absences = no credit
5 absences = lowering of letter grade
4 absences = lowering of letter grade
1-3 = no lowering of letter grade

Try to get your absences excused!

2) Participation
Are you participating in class assignments and projects? Are you engaged and active in your learning? Do I have to constantly tell you the same things over and over like:
" Can you please focus on what you are doing and get off Youtube?"
" Can you please pick your head while I am talking?"

3) Assignments
a. First Editing Project
Have your finished your first editing project?

b. Second Editing Project: Practice Music Video
Have your completed your second editing project?


c. Anti-Smoking Videos Blog--Due April 5th
Videos are found:

Create your own blog featuring your top 3 favorite anti-smoking videos. Also, create a link to your least favorite video.
Embed only 1 of the videos and create links to the others.
Make sure to create descriptions about why you liked the video or didn't like the video.
Make sure you check your grammar.

Create your own blog post reflection on the video. You can generate your own thoughts and feelings but here are some questions to get you started:
How can you related to the film?
How have you grown up online?
Do you think this influx of digital media is a detriment to your education? why or why not?
Where is the use of media not appropriate.
Get personal and try to reflect about your own experience "Growing up Online."

Be sure to include a link to the video/website and pictures.
Pay attention to spelling and grammar.
